My name is Ryan Spence, I’m 19 years old and on July 2, I will be taking part in the Release Abseil Challenge to raise funds for persecuted Christians, specifically for prisoners of faith and their families. Prisoners like Alimjan Yimit, who is serving a 15-year prison sentence for his Christian activities in China, and Maryam Naghash-Zargaran in Iran, but also prisoners like Bintu and Falamta, two young girls in Nigeria who were abducted by Boko Haram militants after refusing to deny Jesus.

This is them pictured on the right and on the left is their mum, Deborah.

One night, extremists forced their way into their home and ordered their dad, a church elder, to deny Jesus.  When he refused, they shot him. Their mum, Deborah, was forced to watch him die. The terrorists then turned to the two girls, aged just 9 and 11 and said: ‘If you do not convert to Islam, we will kill you like we killed your father.’ But Bintu and Falamta also refused. Instead of killing them, the militants took the girls. Deborah has spent the past four years searching for them.

So the money I raise will go towards providing practical help and care for people like Deborah. Thousands of persecuted Christians like Deborah need our prayers and our support for re-building their homes, their churches and their lives.

To support me in this abseil challenge you can visit my Just Giving page and make a donation online here.

I would love to raise as much as I can and be able to help as many persecuted Christians as I can.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your support.
