The Czech Foreign Ministry says that the recent court sentencing of Christian aid worker and Czech national Petr Jasek (pictured) to 20 years in prison in Sudan was not backed by facts, and is now trying to negotiate Petr’s release.
Appeals of his case and those of two others accused with him are expected. Release partner, Middle East Concern, reports that Petr’s faith remains strong and he is coping well and believing God for his release in His timing.
Pray for Petr’s family who have been shocked by the severity of the sentence and who long to see him freed.
Please use this month’s Prisoners of Faith Alert to also pray for the two Sudanese men who have been sentenced with him and for the country of Sudan.
Prisoners need to know they are not forgotten: your support makes a world of difference. Thank you for your faithful prayers, gifts, letters and campaigning.
If you would like to write to Petr or the Sudanese authorities please find details at the end of our last blog post.
